Some were surprised when the Oakland Raiders traded outside linebacker Sio Moore to the Indianapolis Colts. But no one should be when a 2014 starter doesn’t play in the 2015 preseason until the fourth quarter of the last game. My guess is that they were shopping him for a while and the Colts wanted to see him play a little before pulling the trigger.

Over the whole NFL landscape, this wasn’t a big deal at all but in Raider Nation it was a huge deal. Moore had become a fan-favorite partially because he always pumped the crowd up in games. The other part was that he is a pretty good player whose fan-base at the time hadn’t seen a lot of good football.

That made Moore a superstar in Raider Nation so there are many that don’t understand the trade. Then there are those that probably believe the Raiders could have and should have got more than the 6th-round pick they got in return. A lot can go into why an NFL team could trade a starter for a 6th-round pick.
