Randy Gregory
Defensive end Randy Gregory was considered the No. 1 edge-rushing prospect in the 2015 NFL Draft. His value early in the offseason was a top-10 pick by just about every draft expert there is. But failing a drug test at the 2015 NFL Scouting Combine sent his stock plummeting to the end of the second round.
And Jones, who doesn’t have to answer to anyone, had no problem making this pick when he was there. He has an extensive program for players that have off-the-field issues plus ex-Cowboys that stay close to home. So Jones is pretty confident that he can get his players to behave when they get to Dallas.
And if he and Hardy are able to stay out of trouble, they’ll end up having the one of the biggest steals in free agency and the draft. You have to love what you saw from Gregory this preseason, especially in the dress rehearsal. Gregory will hold down the fort until Hardy’s suspension is up but when they’re in the together, that’s horrible for opposing quarterbacks.
I wonder if Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Sam Bradford will make it all the way through the game the way he gets hurt. And as bad as the Washington Redskins’ offensive line is as a whole, Robert Griffin III will like be the starter again after their first game against the Cowboys.
