Bottom line

Head coach Jason Garrett has plenty to smile about these days because his Cowboys are locked and loaded. They were able to bring in three 1st-round talents while making one pick in the first round. Two of them were at positions of need while the one they landed as an undrafted free agent added to a team strength.

And before that, they got the best available edge-rusher in free agency to get after the quarterback. So any quarterback that goes into the playoffs against the Cowboys limping will definitely struggle. Healthy quarterbacks will have a hard enough time with the pass rush the Cowboys have now.

And Jones, the 1st-round pick, will be in the secondary to lessen the impact of the loss of Scandrick. I’m sure you all saw the burst that McFadden showed he still has that Murray never had like that. So the running game isn’t going anywhere as Romo, Dez Bryant and Jason Witten do their thing.

The Cowboys are back and better than last year thanks to their robbery of an offseason.
