No. 5: Christian Hackenberg

Coming into the season, some had him as the top quarterback prospect with most having him at No. 2. But I never thought he had done anything to be a Top-2 quarterback prospect or a 1st-round pick. Most of the experts like him because he has the prerequisite size and arm strength they like in the NFL.

But that and his arm are the only great traits I saw as he is not accurate, especially when throwing down the field. Hackenberg also has a bad habit of holding onto the ball too long and will get him killed in the NFL. That must be why he has yet to complete 60 percent of his passes, throw for 3,ooo yards or 20 touchdowns in a season.

He threw more interceptions than touchdown passes last year and this year, he averaged 4.7 per attempt vs Buffalo and 4.1 yards per vs Temple in a loss. Each of those games to show me he is what I always thought he was. I’m being very generous here in keeping him in the top five as the experts rated him on a projected jump he has yet to make.
