No. 1: Jared Goff

California quarterback Jared Goff is hands down the best quarterback prospect in college right now. He’s going to have to put some meat on his bones but at 6’4″, he has the height and frame the NFL loves. He also has a big arm as well as the accuracy to complete deep outs to the opposite sideline and go-routes.

Goff is playing in the up-tempo spread offense but there are some pro concepts and routes in it. What I like most about him is his ability to throw an accurate ball when he knows he’s going to get crushed ala Philip Rivers and Ben Roethlisberger. His offensive line isn’t the greatest so that’s an ability that is often on display.

Last year, Goff completed 73 percent of his passes for a tad under 4,000 yards, 35 touchdowns and seven interceptions. So far this year vs Grambling and San Diego State, he’s completed 73 percent of his passes for 630 yards, six touchdowns and two interceptions. And on passes of 20-plus yards, he’s 10-12 for 356 yards and two touchdowns to solidify my No. 1 spot.
