Jared Goff looks like the best quarterback prospect

I have to be honest and tell you that I’m really not hat excited about the 2016 quarterback class. I’m trying to get into Connor Cook because I like he arm strength, size, mobility and quick release. I tried to get into Cardale Jones because of his huge arm excellent size and mobility to go with it.

I’m even trying to get into Christian Hackenberg because he has a lot of the traits you want in a quarterback. But he’s in a bad situation with nothing around him but I can’t say he does the most with every opportunity he gets. So there’s no guarantee that if he had the talent him, he would put up the sexy numbers to win a Heisman.

Then there’s lightly regarded Cody Kessler, who’s putting up some good numbers but has all the talent around him. I’m having trouble finding that guy that’s just talented because he’s talented and has no limits. That guy may not be in this class but if there is such a guy, it probably has to be California Golden Bears quarterback Jared Goff.

On Saturday afternoon he showed the ability to overcome adversity to put his team on his back to win. He overcame a bad start that included an early interception to throw for 390 yards and two TDs in a span of less than 2 minutes late in the third quarter. On the day, Goff threw for 390 yards and four touchdowns passes to lift his Golden Bears to 5-0, 2-0 Pac-12. In the process,

Goff set the record for most touchdown passes in school history, passing Kyle Boller. That gives the junior quarterback 23 school records with less than three years of playing time for the Bears. I believe he really distinguished himself from the other quarterback prospects but until it’s against a good team, I’m not top-10 crazy about him.

But he does have a chance to prove himself against those guys later this season.
