Even rookie pass-rushers like Beasley and Randy Gregory have been able to get around the corner on him. But the Giants, at 2-2, could be doing worse at the left tackle position and in the standings. They could have Scherff or Andrus Peat at left tackle and be 0-4, good for last place in the division.

The New York Giants took the 6’6″, 329-pound offensive tackle Eric Flowers No. 9 overall. It was considered a reach by the majority of the scouting world but the Giants are happy with the pick. The original plan was to have him on the right side while they have Will Beatty at the left tackle spot.

But that plan had to be scrapped quickly when Beatty tore his pectoral muscle back in May. And right now, Flowers is a part of a patch-work offensive line protecting quarterback Eli Manning. And he has been just as patch work as the rest of the o-line, showing that he truly isn’t ready for the task of protecting Manning’s blind side.

But the Giants, at 2-2, could be doing worse at the left tackle position and in the standings. They could have Scherff or Andrus Peat at left tackle and be 0-4, good for last place in the division.
