Oct 4, 2015; Santa Clara, CA, USA; San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Torrey Smith (82) makes a catch in front of Green Bay Packers cornerback Damarious Randall (23) in the fourth quarter at Levi

A.
In the 2015 NFL Draft, the Green Bay Packers took Damarious Randall with the No. 30 overall pick. Then in the second, round the Packers took another cornerback in Quentin Rollins. So it’s easy to see that they were looking to add depth after suffering a couple of losses at the position in free agency.

Drafting this low usually means teams are drafting for depth or to develop behind an older player. But nickel corner is a pretty important role on a football team and Randall has done well with it. He has been tested deep more than a few times too and has passed with flying colors.

If Randall keeps up like this, the Packers will be tough to beat as they have depth at corner. The great teams are built to withstand the rash of injuries that break out of the course of an NFL season. And that’s what the Packers were looking for when they drafted Randall with the No. 30.
. CB. Green Bay Packers. DAMARIOUS RANDALL
