Bottom line

No other prospect has been through what Hackenberg has been through in terms of what’s around him. USC had scholarships taken away too but Penn State had a much worse offense so they had a much worse penalty. Plus there was such a negative image at Penn State, your top recruits didn’t want to go there as USC was still able to get good players.

Michigan State, the No. 2 team in the country with Cook at the helm could put him in position to be the first quarterback taken. Goff has shown that he can get rattled and make bad decisions and turn the ball over. Meanwhile Hackenberger has a so-so team around him and he’s getting the most out if it.

If I’m starting my NFL franchise over again, I would want Hackenberg.
