There is actually some good news on Nick Chubb

Georgia Bulldogs running back Nick Chubb is supposed to be a can’t-miss prospect for the NFL in 2017. Last year, as  true freshman, he replaced Todd Gurley, who tore his ACL, and really lit it up. He had 1,547 yards rushing on 7.1 yards per carry with 14 touchdowns along with 213 yards and two TDs receiving.

He showed it all from vision to speed, power, moves, every trait you look for in a running back prospect. Then on Saturday, it all seemed to come crashing down on a play that Chubb’s knee bent in a way a knee isn’t supposed to. I looked like multiple ligament tears including the ACL, which means his NFL career is in serious jeopardy.

But what he ended up with is multiple ligament tears that don’t include the ACL. He will be out for the rest of this season and he will have surgery but he’s expected to make a full recovery for next year. If you saw the play he was injured on, you know this is the best possible news he could have gotten.

Bulldogs head coach Mark Richt told ESPN,”All rehab is tough, but the best news is that there was no damage to a nerve or anything vascular, like an artery,” Richt said. “That was the best news of all, and of course the ACL not being damaged was great as well.”

That is not only good news to Chubb and the Bulldogs but it’s good news to the running back position in the NFL’s future.

This is not a Marcus Lattimore situation!
