It’s about time the Dallas Cowboys start using the best running back they have on the roster. Free agent pickup Darren McFadden showed during the preseason that his incredible burst hadn’t gone anywhere. More importantly, he had shown that he’s a better running back than Joseph Randle.
Randle is more known for saying former teammate Demarco Murray, “Left meat on the bone [yards on the field]” last year than his play on the field. But if Murray left meat on the bone, Randle would go on to leave his dinner on the table. With Tony Romo and Dez Bryant out Randle couldn’t take advantage of the best offensive line in the NFL to pick up the slack.
Then all of the sudden, Randle adds injury to insult with a strained oblique and the Cowboys have to turn to McFadden. And McFadden ate everything that was put in front of him with 152 yards and a touchdown on 29 carries. The play was called back you can definitely see McFadden’s blazing speed didn’t go anywhere.
No one is running away with the NFC East so it’s possible for the Cowboys to stay afloat until Romo and Bryant get back. They need someone with exceptional talent to rally that offense around and McFadden is the most talented player available. For about 3-4 more games until they start getting players back on the defense and offense, they need to ride McFadden’s hot hand.
