2016 NFL Mock Draft: Week 8 Update
By Jon Dove
12. San Diego Chargers (2-5)- A’Shawn Robinson, DT, Alabama
The San Diego Chargers defense is allowing a league-worst 5.3 yards per rush attempt this season which is a major problem. They need to add some beef up front in order to help control the ground game. Alabama’s A’Shawn Robinson is a big-bodied defensive line prospect who excels at stuffing the run.
He does a great job using inside hands, leverage and power to hold at the point of attack. Robinson is a strong two-gap player where he occupies blockers allowing the linebackers to freely flow the to the football.
The Chargers could also look to bolster their pass-rush which also ranks in the lower half of the league. Someone like Georgia’s Leonard Floyd has the speed to generate pressure off the edge.
