In-depth Scouting Report

The Indianapolis Colts defense has several noticeable holes including size along the defensive line. They are allowing over 4 yards per rush so far this season with little hope for improvement. Penn State’s Austin Johnson is one of the top run stuffers in this draft class which makes him an ideal fit.

Johnson features a thick frame, a powerful punch and non-stop motor. He does a good job occupying blockers but can also disengage to make plays away from his frame.

Indianapolis needs to address the issues along the offensive line but will have a hard time finding value at the back-end of the 1st round. Adding an edge rusher also shouldn’t be ruled out with Georgia’s Leonard Floyd and Auburn’s Carl Lawson strong options.
