In his first three games, Tennessee Titans No. 2 overall Marcus Mariota threw for  833 yards, eight TDs and two INTs. Head coach Ken Whisenhunt used some of the spread offense to make Titans fans think they had the savior. But the real Savior was last seen 2015 years ago and when he comes back, it won’t be to play football.

Mariota’s last two games made Titans fans see that Mariota is just a propspect, not a savior. He threw for 406 yards, one TD and three INTs as defenses, just as they did with Colin Kaepernick and Robert Griffin III, figured the simple offense out. Then he injured his MCL in a Week 5 loss to the Miami Dolphins.

The Titans’ bye-week after that then he was unable to play against the Atlanta Falcons last week. This week, he practiced on a limited basis this but didn’t get enough reps for Whisenhunt to play him Sunday. So 2nd-year signal caller Zach Mettenberger 0-7 as a starter for his career and coming off a Week 7 loss, will start again this week against he Houston Texans.

At some point, Mariota is going to have to learn how to play like and NFL quarterback. The hit that injured him was a bush-league play but that kind of stuff happened to Randall Cunningham, Michael Vick and R.G.III before him. Hopefully, he comes back the next week and can continue his progression uninterupted.
