Memphis quarterback Paxton Lynch has put himself on the map and on NFL teams’ radars. He’s been lighting it up all season but his performance in a win over highly-ranked-at-the-time Mississippi put them all on notice. And every since, he’s done nothing to make these NFL teams want to take their eyes off him.

He comes from the spread offense but has every trait that you want from an NFL quarterback. He’s 6’6″, 240 pounds, has a cannon for an arm and he’s very athletic, especially for his size. Lynch has an 18-1 TD-INT ratio and a streak of seven consecutive games with 300-plus passing yards into Saturday’s home game against Navy, where he’ll look to show out more.

As the buzz continues on him, it looks like NFL evaluators are starting to unanimously come the conclusion that Lynch is the No. 1 QB prospect in college. And with that, there are some NFL teams in the middle of their season digging up what they can on him.

His high school coach, Allen Johnson, told the Daytona Beach News-Journal that he’s received calls from the Buffalo Bills, Houston Texans and Denver Broncos. He said, “The scouts that call me want to know about his character and what type of kid he was,” Johnson said. “They’re doing their due diligence.”

But Johnson doesn’t sound like he’s convinced the junior will definitely come out in the 2016 NFL Draft. But he doesn’t have a choice if he continues his season the way it’s going for him now. If he’s the No. 1 quarterback when the season is over, he has to come out while he’s hot.
