In the beginning of the season, the skies were being lit up on the young Raiders corners. D.J. Hayden had a bad start to the season but he has gotten so much better with tight coverage and he’s actually making plays on the ball. T.J. Carrie, the Raiders best corner, had to move to free, safety because starting free safety Nate Allen was injured.

Strong safety Charles Woodson has been his Hall of Fame self the whole way through so far though. He leads the NFL in interceptions this year but the best thing about it is he’s had most of them in the clutch. Dave Amerson, who the Raiders claimed a few weeks ago off waivers by the Washington Redskins has acquitted himself while in Silver and Black.

Neiko Thorpe even looks like he’s getting much better at the corner position for the Raiders. At first, this unit looked like it would be the unit that stopped the Raiders from making the playoffs. But Allen will be back in a couple of weeks and Carrie will go back to corner with an improving Hayden on the other side.

As it is, the Raiders went into the 4th quarter with Rivers only throwing for 105 yards and no touchdowns to that point. They also had the Jets passing game pretty quiet through three quarters. The bad thing is the Bandit Coverage they run allows opposing teams to get down the field too quickly in their 2-minute offenses.
