Denver Broncos corner Aqib Talib has established a reputation as one of the best in the NFL. But after his bush-league, eye-poking on move on Sunday, that reputation of his is sure to take a hit. Another thing that’s going to take a hit, however small for him, is his wallet.
Talib somehow had the nerve to appeal the 1-game suspension the NFL handed him for poking Indianapolis Colts tight end Dwayne Allen in the eye. But Talib’s actions violated safety-related playing rules with the action so he lost the appeal. His explanation for such a bush-league move was almost as bad as the act itself.
Talib told the Denver Post , “From my angle, I see [Dwayne] Allen head-butt Von [Miller] a little bit. I went over to poke his head, and I think my hand slipped and hit his face. He acted like he got in an 18-passenger car wreck. I guess that’s what type of guy he is.”
Really?
You come from the side and it’s clear you purposely poke a man in the eye and in you lie, this is about the type of guy he is?
Like may Daddy use to say, “Where, they do dat at?”
And Broncos head coach Kubiak, like the father of a child that committed a crime, was “convinced” Talib did not intentionally poke Allen in the eye. Talib’s suspension will unlikely hurt the Broncos as they’re playing the 3-5 Kansas City Chiefs. It’s just cray that a player that good on a team that good feels like he has to do something like that.
It’s only one loss he had to take that day.
