This article is the final section of my 3-part 2016 NFL Mock Draft.

10. Miami Dolphins: Robert Nkemdiche, DL Ole Miss.

He’ll get compared to Leonard Williams due to his power and size, but they’re different players. Nkemdiche is taller and is nimble enough to get under blockers or use his height to power blockers out of the way.

Where he’ll play in the NFL is a good question. He could be a strongside defensive end in a 4-3, a 5 Tech in a 3-4 or a 2 gap defensive tackle in a 4-3. Miami could move him around to maximize their talent on the defensive line.

He would be best used in this floating role depending on the situation and could thrive next to Wake and Suh. Right now, Ole Miss is primarily using him in the 2 gap defensive tackle role.

9. Houston Texans: Connor Cook, QB Michigan State.

They’re extremely desperate for a quarterback if they’re taking Cook this high. They probably could drop down 5-9 spots and still get him.

Houston will be bidding on every Vet quarterback available(except for Ryan Mallett), so who knows what they decide to do.

Cook has the look of a talented game manager and in a draft where there were multiple decent pocket passers, he might drop into the 30s or 40s. But there isn’t in this draft so he’ll go too high.

8. San Francisco 49ers: Jack Conklin, OL Michigan State.

In 2014, the 49ers had a relatively talented offensive line which gave up on average 4.25 QB hits per game. In 2015, they’re giving up 6.25 Qb hits per game.  Also, their yards per rush has declined from 4.6 to 3.9.

They badly miss Anthony Davis at right tackle. Conklin is a similar player: good power and hand use. He’s used to playing on the left more, but the transition should be a quick one for him.

As for their quarterback spot, expect a move for a Vet in the offseason. The GM and head coach probably can’t wait for a rookie to develop.

7. Dallas Cowboys: Jaylon Smith, LB Notre Dame.

This pick is somewhere between “best player available” and “need” for the Cowboys. They have bigger needs but Smith is a real talent and they could use an upgrade at Sam LB or Mike.

Smith has great instincts, can attack the backfield well and cover like a strong safety. In short, he’s a great fit for the Cowboys and their Cover-2 system.

He also gives their defense some badly needed athleticism and should help close down tight ends and running backs in the receiving game.
