Kevin Hogan, QB, Stanford

Hogan is a prospect who’s seen his stock go from the highest that it can go to almost the lowest it can go. But he got lucky.

He stayed in school for his senior season and picked the right draft for any pocket passer with ties to a pro style offense to come out in.

What stands out in the tape is his funky, long arm motion. Since he has no problem with his throwing power or velocity, it’s possible that he could be akin to Philip Rivers-a strange delivery which works for him.

He also steps into his throws with half step footwork. This is something that could limit his throwing power, but that doesn’t show up in his tape.

Most impressive is how decisive he is with the ball. If he got sacks against Southern Cal, it was because the defense guessed right or had the right matchups on for their rush.

When he had time to scan the field for an open wideout, he was next to impossible to rush or fluster.

Hogan is another prospect who could rise quickly. Scouts are going to like his arm talent and that he played for David Shaw. His stats aren’t the best but Stanford is running the ball nearly twice as much as it’s passing the ball.
