However, the Giants and Flowers shouldn’t get a bad grade because Flowers has taken one for the team literally. Judging picks is all about whether or not the player can do what the organization wants him to. But Flowers hasn’t had a chance to do that because of the injury to Beatty.

The New York Giants took the 6’6″, 329-pound offensive tackle Eric Flowers No. 9 overall in may. The original plan was to have him on the right side with Will Beatty at the left tackle spot. Flowers was never thought of as a guy with the pass-blocking skills to protect quarterback Eli Manning’s blind side.
He is a huge man and a road-grader in college, a skill-set that’s made more for right tackles. But Flowers had to step in at left tackle when Beatty tore his pectoral muscle in the offseason. And it hasn’t been pretty as rookie pass-rushers like Beasley and Randy Gregory turned the corner on him.
