A.
Many questioned it when the Houston Texans first took cornerback Kevin Johnson No. 16 overall. But from the time he was assigned to cover Denver Broncos star receiver Damarious Thomas this preseason, it was easy to see he has what it takes. However, Johnson wasn’t made the starter right away as the Texans instead keep Kareem Jackson in there with Johnathan Joseph.

So Johnson took a role in the Texans’ sub-package and did pretty well for himself with it. So when Jackson went down, the Texans felt as good as they can feel about losing a starter. And in these five games Johnson been the starter, he’s made a seamless transition from the sub-package and the Texans feel even better.

He had a key role in holding down the undefeated Cincinnati Bengals’ explosive offense to no TDs. Quarterback Andy Dalton had under 200 yards passing and receiver A.J. Green had under 70 yards receiving for the game. Johnson had a couple of passes defended, one of them at a key time to show what a pick this is.
. CB. Houston Texans. KEVIN JOHNSON
