A.
The Pittsburgh Steelers love those huge, strong, fast physical freaks to play outside linebacker in their 3-4 defense. So when they saw 6’4″, 270-pound, 4.5 40 running Bud Dupree available at No. 22 overall they had to take him. With the Sun setting on James Harrison’s career and LaMarr Woodley faded out, the pick makes sense.

It just wouldn’t be the Steel Curtain without a terror coming off the edge of the Steelers defense. His speed and power got his NFL career of to a good start with three sacks in his first five games. But over his last five games, he’s had an exponential drop-off with only has one sack.

He’s learning that his speed and power won’t get him everything and he needs to work on a counter move. It would also be nice for the Steelers if he would read his keys faster and set a better edge. But you can tell from his sacks, pressures and tackles for losses that Dupree is going to be what the Steelers wanted when they picked him.
. EDGE. Pittsburgh Steelers. BUD DUPREE
