The NFL season is already past the half-way point and things are starting to get really interesting. However, there are plenty of teams that already have little to no chance at a playoff spot.
These are the teams and fan bases that are already looking towards the draft. This is why people love reading a 2016 NFL Mock draft. They get a chance to forget about this year’s failures and look to the future.
This draft has its share of elite talent but lacks a ton of depth. There’s a drop off in talent around pick No. 7 after players like Ohio State’s Joey Bosa and Ole Miss’s Laremy Tunsil are off the board.
The big storyline with this draft will likely surround the quarterback position. California’s Jared Goff, Michigan State’s Connor Cook, Memphis’s Paxton Lynch and Penn State’s Christian Hackenberg are all on the 1st-round radar.
Each of these prospects come with positives and negatives. Their draft position is so fluid that we could see three go inside the top-10 or zero.
The draft order for this mock was developed based on the ESPN power rankings. I broke down the thought process in an article which you can view HERE.
