The Oakland Raiders have drafted very well lately and put some peices together. Their explosive offense is built around 2014 2nd-round pick and QB Derek Carr. The defense is still being built around 2014 1st-round pick and OLB Khalil Mack.

As much as the Raiders have other pieces there, the corner position is costing them the most. And Jalen Ramsey, a traditional Raiders corner type, is in the 2016 draft. The big, long-armed corners didn’t start with the Seattle Seahawks.

It goes back as far as Willie Brown but even in the modern era, Nnamdi Asomugha was before Richard Sherman. Ramsey also has the speed and athleticism the Raiders like. He has blazing speed and the 2016 Olympics as a long jumper are within his reach.

So while the rest of the NFL tries to figure out if he’s a safety or a corner, the Raiders see their corner. Brown was an linebacker and Asomugha was a free safety in college. So the Raiders make this pick and the young teams becomes instant contenders.
. CB. Florida State. Jalen Ramsey. 15. player. 28
