But there isn’t anything great at the position as the teams has given up 34 sacks, third most in the NFL. Quarterback Alex Smith hasn’t made a lot of magic with receiver Jeremy Maclin. They just haven’t had enough time to get anything done down the field.
But right here at No. 19 overall, the Chiefs go ahead to get themselves a left tackle. Then Maclin can have a chance to earn that big contract he signed. And with the defense and running game they have, the Chiefs could get themselves into the playoffs in 2016.

The Kansas City Chiefs need look like they’re starting to come together these days. Their 5-5 record consists of an opening day win, a 5-game losing streak follwed by a 4-game winning streak. If they stay as hot as they are, they won’t be picking this soon.
But that’s unlikely because seven of the last 10 games are against teams with good edge-rushers. The Chiefs have problems with such teams because they don’t have great tackles. Eric Fisher has moved over to the right side and looked a little better.
