Memphis’ Paxton Lynch has exploded onto the scene this year with his strong play and the success of his team. However, he has been on the draft radar for awhile and used this season to cement himself as a first-round prospect. The only question now is how high will he go!

Lynch is a tremendous athlete who can escape the pocket and extend plays. He features ideal size for the position and the arm strength needed to make all the necessary NFL throws.

This is far from a finished product as Lynch needs to improve his footwork, ability to go through progressions and anticipation. These are all areas most young quarterbacks need to improve which is addressed with more specialized coaching in the NFL.

Lynch is a little more risky than most quarterback prospects because he not only needs to develop but also comes from a school that routinely faces less competition. He hasn’t gone through the grind of quarterbacks coming out of the SEC, Big 10 or Pac-12.

Still, we have seen plenty of small school quarterbacks flourish in the NFL. Lynch has as much talent as any of those and has proven to be a winner with a strong work ethic.
