18. Jack Conklin, OL, Michigan State

Michigan State’s Jack Conklin is a powerful and nasty offensive line prospect. He currently lines up at left tackle, but is more of a fit a guard in the NFL. The left tackle position is more valuable in the eyes of evaluators which could hurt Conklin’s draft stock. However, this is an elite prospect capable of dominating the line of scrimmage.

Conklin is a road-grader who loves to move defenders off the ball. He routinely fires off the ball, rolls his hips and delivers a strong initial jolt. His heavy hands allow him to Velcro to the defender and control his movements.

While he lacks the athleticism to play left tackle in the NFL, he would be considered an above-average athlete at guard. He has the quickness to reach the second level and pull to the edge.

The Philadelphia Eagles should take a long look at Conklin as he would fill a major hole along their offensive line. Philadelphia’s offensive struggles this season can be directly blamed on the lack of a running game.

This starts with issues along the interior of the offensive line where they struggled to replace Todd Herremans and Evan Mathis. Conklin can step in from day one and provide an immediate upgrade.
