2016 NFL Draft Big Board: December Update

22. De’Runnya Wilson, WR, Mississippi State
Mississippi State’s De’Runnya Wilson is one of my favorite players in this draft class. He’s a physical player who continues to progress as a receiver. His size and toughness make him a nightmare for any defensive back to cover.
Wilson knows how to use his size to his advantage and attack the ball at its highest point. He also does a great job using his body to box out defenders and provide the quarterback with a big target.
The question mark with Wilson is his top-end speed which could hurt his draft stock. However, this is less of a concern for me because elite speed isn’t always needed to succeed. Wilson’s size and aggressiveness is why he’s able to produce.
He reminds me a lot of Alshon Jeffery who has similar size and question marks surrounding his speed. I’m sure several teams learned a lesson by passing on Jeffery and letting him slip to the 2nd round.
The Seattle Seahawks would be a great landing spot for Wilson. They need more playmakers on the offensive side of the ball—especially with Jimmy Graham’s long-term health a concern. Wilson would give them that big target who can win in contested situations.
Next: No. 23 Austin Johnson
