27. player. 49.
Green Packers star edge-rusher Clay Matthews III is holding the defense together while playing ILB. But they’re No. 23 against the run, giving up an average of 4.2 yards per carry. So the Packers need to find themselves a natural ILB.

Then Matthews can go back to being one of the best 3-4 OLBs in the game. The Packers would get after the passer better even better than they do now. So taking Alabama inside linebacker Reggie Ragland is a pick the Packers have to make here.

Ragland led the defense that held mercurial LSU RB Leonard Fournette to just 31 yards on 16 carries. Fournette averaged darn-near 200 yards a game until he met Alabama. So you can see that Ragland is tough on opposing running backs.

And that shouldn’t change at all when he starts playing for the Packers. Stopping the run while allowing to Matthews to go back to the edge will make that defense great. And getting receiver Jordy Nelson back on offense makes the Packers a great team.
. ILB. Alabama. Reggie Ragland
