Peters

As far as the very beginning goes, Peters couldn’t have asked for a better start to his career. On his first play of his career vs the Houston Texans in Houston, he came up with an interception. He also had three passes defended on the day and came up big in run support, finishing with seven tackles.

Then in his next game against the Denver Broncos, he intercepted a Peyton Manning pass and returned it 55 yards for a touchdown. He remains among the league’s leaders in interceptions (4) and passes defensed (16). From that, you can see the Chiefs found themselves a potential lock-down corner.

But at the same time, he has shown this season that he’s not consistent enough to be that just yet. He has been burned badly at times and is one of the most picked on corners in the NFL this year. His passes defensed and interception numbers are good but Peters has also given up seven TD passes.

Of course, who a player is matched up against has much to do with what that player’s success level will be. Route-runners like Antonio Brown were able to cook Peters because he too often guesses wrong. But no one can cover Brown so you really can’t knock Peters too much for his game against Brown.
