EDGE. Georgia. Leonard Floyd. 22. player. 30.
New York Jets have a head coach that loves to blitz and corners that can cover one-on-one. They also have Leonard Williams, Muhammad Wilkerson and Sheldon Ricardson on their d-line. But still, the Jets are average at getting to the quarterback.

Despite getting doubled a lot, Wilkerson is the only one that gets his sacks. And they won’t have him next year with all the money he’s going to get in free agency. Losing Wilkerson is a big deal but the Jets are still good on the interior of their front-7.

The Jets need a good edge-rusher if their going to get to opposing quarterbacks. Dominant edge-rushers make all those exotic blitzes get there faster. They require too much attention by opposing offensive lines, leaving one-on-ones or unblocked rushers.

So right here, with the No. 21 overall pick, they select Yannick Ngakoue. Ngakoue has burst around the corner, good hand-slap moves and power to bull-rush. Last year, he went against Brandon Scherff and ran right over the top of him.

But the most important thing is he just knows how to get to the quarterback. Ngakoue tied for second in the FBS in sacks with 13.5 to back up that notion. So when the Jets make this pick they will have quarterbacks, like Tom Brady on the look-out.
