10. Chicago Bears (5-8)- Paxton Lynch, QB, Memphis

Despite a few recent losses, the Chicago Bears surprised a lot of people this year. The biggest surprise has been the strong play of Jay Cutler. He has done more than enough to get another year as the starter in Chicago.

However, this is a franchise that has seen the type of ups and downs that come with Cutler in the lineup. His history and contract numbers mean that the Bears must consider bringing in a young quarterback into the mix.

Memphis’ Paxton Lynch has a ton of natural talent but is raw. He’s the perfect candidate to sit behind Cutler for a year or two and then take over the starting job. General Manager Ryan Pace has talked about always looking for a quarterback.

Adam Gase has built a strong case to be given a chance to develop a young quarterback. He has really done a great job this year and deserves a lot of credit for Cutler’s turnaround.

The issue with grabbing Lynch at this spot is it keeps the Bears from addressing the major needs on the defensive side of the ball. Chicago has holes on the defensive line, on the edge and in the secondary. John Fox and Vic Fangio worked a miracle this year but the fact remains that this defense needs better talent.
