2. Cleveland Browns (3-10)- Jared Goff, QB, California
The marriage between Johnny Manziel and the Cleveland Browns has been a disaster. Manziel has failed to show the maturity needed to be a starting quarterback in the NFL while the Browns have stunted his development by taking him in and out of the lineup.
It appears that the best scenario for both parties would be to go in different directions. Cleveland has a slight chance to gain an asset by trading Manziel. The key is to keep him on the field for these final games and hope he shows some promise.
Moving on from Manziel means that Cleveland will again be searching for their franchise quarterback. California’s Jared Goff is my top-rated quarterback and has a chance to be an above average starter in the league.
Goff is very different from Manziel in that he has excellent size and wins from the pocket. He’s a good decision maker who shows a solid throwing arm and good accuracy. This is a player who could quickly help the people in Cleveland forget the Manziel mistake.
However, it’s fair to wonder if the Browns will yet again hurt the development of a young quarterback. This is an unstable franchise that has made a ton of mistakes over the years.
