4. Baltimore Ravens (4-9)- Vernon Hargreaves III, CB, Florida
Florida’s Vernon Hargreaves III is an exceptional cover man who excels thanks to his instincts. He knows how to read a quarterback and the developing routes. Hargreaves trusts his reads and quickly reacts to the play.
His impact is enhanced thanks to his elite ball skills which make him a major turnover threat. Hargreaves routinely puts himself in position to make a play on the football and isn’t afraid to take some chances. Defensive backs who can create turnovers carry a great deal of value with defensive coaches.
The Baltimore Ravens have a desperate need for talent in the secondary. They have Jimmy Smith at one corner spot but he has also had his share of struggles this year. Targeting Hargreaves would give the Ravens an elite talent at the position and someone capable of making an immediate impact.
Baltimore might also be facing a need on the edge where Terrell Suggs is another year older and coming off a torn Achilles tendon. It’s fair to wonder how quickly he’ll get back to form or if he will struggle to be the same player.
There’s no elite edge-rusher in this draft class with the Ohio State’s Joey Bosa built a little different than a Suggs type.
