In 1980, the Cincinnati Bengals selected left a tackle Anthony Munoz out of USC at No. 3 overall. Munoz then made himself a fixture at left tackle right away and remainied as such for 13 seasons. And under his watch all that time, Bengals quarterbacks from Kenny Anderson to Boomer Esiason were safe.

Munoz is considered one of, if not the greatest, left tackle and-or offensive linemen in NFL history. Munoz was an extremely durable player, missing just three games during his first 12 seasons. His legendary workout routine made him one of the best conditioned athletes on the field when he played.

Munoz helped the Bengals get to the Super Bowl in 1981, his second year, and again in 1987. He was the Offensive Lineman of the Year, awarded by the NFL Players Association in 1981, 1985, 1988, and 1989. Munoz also made 11 Pro Bowls and was and All-Pro nine times.

At the time of his retirement, his Pro Bowl selections were tied with Tom Mack for the most ever by an offensive lineman. And all that easily got Munoz into the Pro Football Hall of Fame on the first ballot. Beyond that, in 2010, he was ranked #12 on NFL Network’s Top 100 Greatest Players in history.
. LT. USC.
