If you’re a Washington Redskins fan, “YOU LIKE THAT!… YOU LIKE THAT!” As a mater of fact, you absolutely love that, being Kirk Cousins has led the Redskins into the playoffs. Everyone and their mother knows they think Cousins was talking to them when he originally yelled that into the camera after erasing a 24-o deficit to beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 7.

I went into to the game believing Robert Griffin III should have been the starter of the 2-4 Redskins. Then after the game, especially after the sound and the furry of his, “YOU LIKE THAT,” I fell in love with him as a football player. That was his way of letting all of his doubters, including me, know that he had arrived.

And arrive he did because it was at that point that he made the Redskins his team. In his first six games, Cousins went 2-4, completing 66 percent of his passes for 237 yards per game and six total TDs. And from that fateful seventh game on, he’s gone 6-3, winning three in a row, completing 72 percent of his passes for 286 yards per game and 20 total TDs.

Next Sunday, the red-hot Cousins closes the regular season out against the division rival Dallas Cowboys. His defense is playing better these days and it’s no coincidence Cousins pick his play up since receiver DeSean Jackson got healthy. This is going to make the Redskins a dangerous team to face in the playoffs.
