We just saw the NFL try and fail to suspend New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady for deflating footballs. The media couldn’t let Peyton Manning be outdone so they have the “Al Jazeera report.” for cheating. is suggests that Manning used HGH to come back from all his neck injuries.
The report is based on British hurdler Liam Collins going undercover to investigate Guyer Institute. Pharmacist Chad Robertson claims to have given painkillers like Percocet and Toradol to Green Bay Packers Clay Matthews, Julius Peppers and Mike Neal. He also claims to have given Pittsburgh Steeler james Harrison a Delta-2, a substance banned in the NFL.
As for Manning, the claim is that he had HGH sent to his wife, Ashley, for him to use. Manning confirmed he was a patient at Guyer Institute, where Charlie Sly, who was an intern pharmacist, worked. Sly was originally cited in the report but would later recanted his claims.
Manning said that he was only there to use the Hyperbaric chamber and to receive blood flow treatment. On Sunday morning, Manning appeared on ESPN and vehemently denied having ever used HGH or any banned substances to aid in his recovery from neck surgery back in 2011.
He said, “Between being angry, furious, disgusted is how I really feel, sickened. I’m not sure I understand how someone can make something up about somebody. … And yet somehow it’s published in a story. I don’t understand that. Maybe you can explain that to me. So it’s completely fabricated, complete trash, garbage.
“There’s more adjectives I’d like to be able to use. It really makes me sick. It makes me sick that it brings (my wife) Ashley into it, her medical history, her medical privacy being violated. That makes me sick. I don’t understand that. I’m in the middle of my throwing workout. I enjoy doing that. I have to interrupt this workout to come talk about this.
“I don’t know this guy. I’ve never heard of this guy up until this report. I’ve never met this guy. Any medical treatments that my wife received, that’s her business. It has nothing to do with me. I have my treatments that I do. She may have hers and that’s her business. There’s no connection between the two. … I’d love to understand why this guy is saying this, why he’s making it up. He admits he’s making it up and it still becomes a story.”
There’s not reason to not believe Manning here because his body has continued to let him down. In 2014, after getting off to a good start, his body broke down and he couldn’t perform at the same level at the end of the season. This year, he didn’t make it very far without his body breaking down and the Broncos are trying to get him fixed for the playoffs.
If someone gave him anything, it was the wrong stuff.
If he were on HGH, he would be back by now!
