The Oakland Raiders are not moving to Los Angeles.

But if you listen to the people in the city, they’ll tell you the Raiders are already on the way. Houston Texans owner Robert McNair, of the NFL’s LA committee, has the LA all gassed up about it. His comments in the media are always slanted toward the San Diego Chargers and Raiders getting to LA over the St. Louis Rams.

That’s because he’s one of the owners that supports Chargers owner Dean Spanos. The LA committee is made of six owners of varying degrees of influence and not all of them agree. However, McNair is the least influential of all the owners in the NFL, being the last one to have a team (since 2002).

So the comments of McNair in the media shouldn’t be taken as the committee’s or the NFL’s view. He has many in LA believing his hype (because they want to believe it) but that’s all it really is. If Davis wanted to, and he really doesn’t, he would have to drag a 2,000-pound wagon up a muddy hill in a rain storm to get to LA.

There are a lot of factors that people are ignoring.

Turn the page for a look at them.
