Bottom line

Davis has repeatedly said he wants to try to keep the team in Oakland for a reason (more money). On top of Davis wanting to stay, the NFL wants him to stay because it’s more money for the NFL too. The contract Spanos and Davis have voids if at least one of the teams involved gets a stadium where they are currently to show both teams want to stay put if they can.

So people in the Bay Area, who just saw Charles Woodson play in Oakland for the last time needn’t worry. That was Woodson’s last game in Oakland, not to the Raiders’ last game in the city. All the misinformation out there is coming from Southern California because McNair is gassing them all up.

The NFL wants to take advantage of the LA market but the city isn’t the place to be for the NFL. Teams like the Pittsburgh Steelers, New England Patriots, and Dallas Cowboys are doing fine without LA. Even the Raiders, who won a Super Bowl in LA, won two of them in Oakland, one of them just two years prior to moving.

All the Raiders need now is to finish coming into the modern era of football with a new stadium and corporate sponsors. And the NFL is now helping the Raiders build one in one of the richest areas of the nation. The NFL didn’t become what it is by leaving one goldmine to dig into another one so expect the Raiders to stay.

NFL football is coming to LA real soon but it won’t be the Raiders.
