2016 NFL Draft most explosive athletes.
The term “explosive” is often used to describe NFL prospects and seen by many as the most important trait. It’s something that helps separate the solid prospects from those expected to be elite NFL players. The 2016 NFL Draft features a ton of highly-explosive players, but there are a few prospects that stand out.
This article breaks down this year’s most explosive prospects. I view the term “explosive” a little different than most in that it’s not just limited to speed. There are players who possess explosive power in their upper body and hips.
A lineman who features an explosive hip roll can generate a jolt and dominate the line of scrimmage. That jolt helps them create separation and knock their opponent off balance.
The explosiveness of a runner can also differ in that some are quick-twitch athletes while others gain momentum further down the field. This article features two running backs who have very different running styles.
Quarterbacks can also have an explosive throwing arm that allows them to generate a ton of zip on their passes. This draft class doesn’t feature a quarterback who has that type of arm strength but NFL quarterbacks like Matthew Stafford and Jay Cutler are good examples.
