The Los Angeles Rams are getting a proper welcome home!

A lot of Oakland Raiders fans that live in Los Angeles were irate over the decision for the Rams to leave St. Louis and move to L.A. That was obviously because it meant that the Raiders would be stuck in Oakland, where they belong. A lot of them said things like, “L.A. doesn’t want the Rams, they want the Raiders. They won’t get any support. Oh, those poor St. Louis fans.”

Not that those L.A. Raiders fans cared about the St. Louis fans but they clearly don’t speak for L.A. As a matter of fact, things are quite the opposite of how the L.A. Raiders fans said it would go. The team announced Wednesday it has received more than 45,000 season ticket deposits over the last two days.

Rams chief operating officer Kevin Demoff said, “We could not be more pleased by Los Angeles’ passion for the return of the Rams. It is evident that our fans are excited to be part of history this year in the Coliseum and their energy is fueling our organization as we begin to build our new stadium in Inglewood.”

Of course, the Rams will have to win with the next few years and all they needs is a quarterback for that. But even the loyalist of fans like Cleveland Browns fans or Raiders fans will get there a little less if you go 10 years without winning. The NFL is relocating the right team as they should have never left L.A.

The ticket sales say there’s a strong fan base there and owner Stan Kroenke is bringing the best product. NFL Network studios are good but Kroenke’s $2.6 billion Inglewood site will be much like the L.A. Live area around Staples Center 2019. Plus the NFL brand is about it’s rivalries and the between the Rams and the San Francisco 49ers just re-intensified.

My condolences to the city of St. Louis but the Rams always belonged in L.A. and Kroenke seems to been planning that since he bought the team. At the re-introductory news conference Friday, Kroenke said while tearing up, “It’s been a long road back. We made it.”

Now, if the Chargers stay in San Diego, everyone will be where they belong. The Raiders have the option to go to L.A if the Chargers stay home but don’t look forward to that happening soon. His relocation fee ($1 billion) to move in with Kronke is double what it would have been for Carson and he couldn’t afford that.
