All this talk about Ohio State defensive end Joey Bosa being the No. 1 prospect is killing me. Bosa is easily the most overrated prospect coming out of school since Houston Texans edge-rusher Jadeveon Clowney. Meanwhile, there’s a real edge-rushing prospect, the smaller school, Khalil Mack to Bosa’s Clowney.

He is Noah Spence of Eastern Kentucky and NFL Media analyst Bucky Brooks compares him to Denver Broncos OLB Von Miller. He wasn’t talked about much at first but after last week’s performance at the Reese’s Senior Bowl, he’s created quite a buzz. And Brooks believes it’s enough to push himself into the top half of the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft.

Brooks said of Spence, “His ability to rush the passer, first-step quickness, dip and rip, the bend and balance that you see him turn the corner with, to me reminded me of the same thing I saw from Von Miller when he was at the Senior Bowl years ago. We all know pass rushers are coveted at a premium.

“If he interviews well at the combine and going forward in his private workouts when he makes team visits, I believe at the end of the day, he’s going to be in the conversation for the top 15 (picks). Everyone wants a closer. A guy who can close out the game (with a sack) when you have a lead. Noah Spence is the best closer in the draft.”

Spence has to interview well because of his ban from the Big Ten Conference for failed drug tests. He still has to convince these NFL clubs that his problems with substances are permanently behind him. But in terms of what he can do on the field, Spence is the premier pass rusher in the 2016 NFL Draft.

He’s miles ahead of Bosa!
