Peyton Manning looks good to go for Denver Broncos
As we all know, Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning is one of the best to ever do it. But now at age 39, he’s no longer the same guy he was when he set all those records he set in 2013. But as the saying goes, Manning doesn’t have to be as great as he once was, he as to once great as he ever was.
And according to Peter King, who was at the Broncos practice in Thursday, Manning may be just that for Super Bowl 50. King reported that Manning completed three deep throws in team drills with but one incompletion of a deep ball as the Broncos went through a “spirited” practice at Stanford Stadium.
The report had the 39-year old Manning impressing all that were around, especially his own head coach, Gary Kubiak. Kubiak told a pool reporter on the field after practice, “This is as good as he’s looked all year long. You saw some big downfield throws today. This is what Peyton looked like back at the start of the season.”
Manning threw dimes to wide receivers Emmanuel Sanders, Demaryius Thomas, and Andre Caldwell all day. By King’s count, Manning only threw only four incompletions in the whole session. You can look at it in the context of Allen Iverson when he said, “We talkin’ about practice man!”
Manning obviously doesn’t have anyone hitting him before, after, or during his throws. As a matter of fact, it wasn’t even a padded practice so there wasn’t any hitting going on around him. But this is a battle-tested quarterback and it looks like he’s starting to get healthy at the right time for the Broncos.
