2. Cleveland Browns- Jared Goff, QB, California

The Cleveland Browns started their offseason on the right foot when they were able secure Hue Jackson as their head coach. Jackson is a good football mind who has a knack for developing an offense to fit his quarterback. With him in the mix, the Browns could add a quarterback with the No. 2 pick and feel comfortable he’ll be in a position to succeed.

California’s Jared Goff is my top-rated quarterback and has the potential to be a franchise player. He features good size, a strong arm, functional mobility and a high football IQ. His ability to make proper reads and delver an accurate football will help early in his career.

He is basically the opposite of Johnny Manziel who’s on his way out the door. Goff wins from inside the pocket, has good height and a clean off-field record.

There’s a lot of buzz surrounding North Dakota State’s Carson Wentz, but I have him rated below Goff. Wentz is more raw as a prospect and relies more on his legs to move the chains. He’d make more sense for Cleveland if they looked to trade in the back-end of the first round.

If Joey Bosa is on the board he’d be another option, as the Browns really need to bolster their pass rush.
