North Dakota State quarterback Carson Wentz has a lot of early buzz as a prospect this draft season. That buzz picked up steam for the small-school sensation after his performance at the Senior Bowl. Some have even gone as far as to say he should be the first quarterback taken in the 2016 NFL Draft.

But California quarterback Jared Goff has a different opinion and wants the NFL world to know it.  He believes he should be the best signal-caller taken and he’ll be the best from the 2016 class when all is said and done. In a recent interview with MMQB’s Peter King he sounded about as sure as a player can be about himself.

He said, “I think my accuracy is as good as it gets at this level. I think my pocket presence and my ability to extend plays speak for themselves. I’m confident I’ll be the best quarterback in the draft.”

NFL Media draft expert Mike Mayock revealed on Twitter last week that he has Goff at No. 2 behind Wentz. He considers Goff the most polished QB in the draft, but favors Wentz’s long-term potential. As of right now, most of the NFL Draft experts have Goff going No. 2 overall to the Cleveland Browns.

It’s been a very long time since the Browns have drafted and developed a franchise quarterback. But that doesn’t scare Goff, who told King that he’s not worried about where he end up landing. As a matter of fact, he sounds pretty confident that he can go in and lift whatever franchise he goes to.

He said, “I’m not worried about it. “I’m excited about it. Whatever team I go to, I’ll be excited to go. I want to be the future of a franchise. I think I can be a guy who can make an impact right away.”

His confidence will sure be tested right away!
