Kansas City Chiefs

Team Needs: S, OL, LB

The Chiefs face a big problem in their secondary. Their top three safeties in Eric Berry, Husain Abdullah and Tyvon Branch are all free agents. Berry himself may be the biggest target in free agency this off season, just one year removed from chemotherapy after being diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma.

Three Options: Tashaun Gipson (FA), Karl Joseph, Vonn Bell

Andy Reid has always built his teams starting at the trenches, and the offensive line could use a boost at most positions. LT Eric Fisher has been inconsistent, especially for a first-overall pick, and Jah Reid had a poor season. On top of that, starting guard Jeff Allen is both injury prone and a free agent. The Chiefs need someone who can keep Alex Smith from getting bloodied.

Three Options: Donald Penn (FA) Cody Whitehair, Spencer Drango

With Derrick Johnson and Tamba Hali both free agents, the Chiefs likely aren’t going to be able to resign both. Which one gets resigned will likely decide if the Chiefs target an inside or outside linebacker in the draft. Justin Houston’s contract makes it too difficult to sign both of them. Johnson reportedly does not want to leave Kansas City, so it may be possible to resign him to a team-friendly contract.

Three Options: Sean Weatherspoon (FA), Noah Spence, Antonio Morrison
