Philadelphia Eagles general manager Howie Roseman is using bleach to wash away the Chip Kelly era. They can’t have receivers DeSean Jackson and Jeremy Maclin back but they can get rid of the players Kelly brought in. After trading cornerback Byron Maxwell and linebacker Kiko Alonzo to the Miami Dolphins, it was running back Demarco Murray’s turn.

With his assistance, the Eagles agreed to trade the 2014 NFL rushing champion, to the Tennessee Titans. The terms of he deal have yet to be disclosed as it won’t become official until Wednesday

Murray altered his contract to accommodate the trade, but he did not lose his $21 million in guaranteed money.

With the Dallas Cowboys in 2014, Murray led the league with 1,845 yards and 13 touchdowns, earning NFL Offensive Of The Year honors. But with the Eagles in 2015, he had just 702 yards on 3.6 yards per carry in an offense that didn’t suit his running style and the Titans are counting on that being a case.

The 28 year-old Murray gives second-year quarterback Marcus Mariota a starting running back who can handle a big workload. And head coach Mike Mularkey is a former offensive lineman that likes to run the football anyway. Mariota’s receivers and the defense are solid so if they Titans pick left tackle Laremy Tunsil No.1 overall as expected, the team can dramatically improve.

The AFC South is starting to spice up these days!

Stay tuned as there are surely more moves to be made when the league year starts on March, 9.
