2016 NFL Mock Draft

The 2016 NFL draft is just over a month away and the rumor mill is really starting to ramp up. Things have become more intriguing thanks to all the moves during the early part of free agency. We’ve seen some major trades and signings that have impacted how teams will approach the draft.

A good example is the Jacksonville Jaguars who have addressed holes in the secondary and along the defensive line. Prior to signing the likes of Malik Jackson, Tashaun Gipson and Prince Amukamara the Jaguars could’ve targeted those positions with their first round pick.

The New York Giants also made some major additions that likely shifted their draft focus. Adding a pass rusher is no longer the most important need thanks to the signing of Olivier Vernon. They could now look to give Eli Manning some help along the offensive line, at running back or at the wide receiver position.

What teams like the Jaguars and Giants really accomplished with their free agent signings is flexibility. They can head into draft weekend targeting the best player available rather than reaching for someone to fill a need.

This year’s draft will be as exciting as years past and is just around the corner.
