With the 1st two picks of the 2016 NFL Draft already traded it’s entirely possible that the San Diego Chargers also consider making a move.

The San Diego Chargers have more than a few holes on their roster and would benefit from adding additional draft assets. If they’re able to stay inside the top-10 they could still land a potential elite talent while providing the franchise an opportunity to attack other holes on the roster.

This pick could be attractive to teams that feel the need to jump ahead of the Dallas Cowboys who could target prospects like Ohio State’s Ezekiel Elliott, Joey Bosa, Florida State’s Jalen Ramsey or Oregon’s DeForest Buckner.

One potential trade partner could be the Jacksonville Jaguars who sit at No. 5 and need defensive help. It’s possible they covet the same player they feel the Cowboys will take at No. 4. In this scenario, Jacksonville could trade the No. 5 pick and pick No. 69 (3rd round) for the No. 3 pick.

The Jaguars could then grab their top rated player and the Chargers could still land a top-flight offensive tackle or impact defender.

Jerry Reese of the New York Giants is on the hot seat and needs to come out of this draft with impact players. An aggressive move up to No. 3 overall would land them someone capable to step in and provide immediate help. The best course of action would be to grab Ole Miss’ Laremy Tunsil and solidify the offensive line.

Adding Tunsil would allow the Giants to move Ereck Flowers to right tackle thus improving two spots along the line. The concern is that the Giants would have to pay a steep price to get this pick. However, Reese might be willing to sacrifice future picks in order to cool off his seat.

It would likely cost the Giants something like this year’s 2nd round pick (No. 40), this year’s 4th (No. 109) and a 2017 1st and 3rd rounder.

Either way, the 2016 NFL Draft drama really starts with the Chargers and pick No. 3 overall.
