Dallas Cowboys select Ezekiel Elliott to run behind their elite offensive line.

Dallas selects a great playmaker and said to be the best running back to come out of college since Adrian Peterson. Elliott is everything you would want for a running back in today’s offensive system. He tested great and should be able to put up very good numbers in NFL let alone running behind the NFL’s best offensive line.

I really would have went defense here though. With Demarcus Lawrence and Randy Gregory out, I would have for sure gone defense. Jalen Ramsey could play corner or safety and Dallas could have went with a defensive end in round 2. Although I think Elliott will produce at the next level I don’t think this was the right choice. Alfred Morris’s only down year was last year. Darren McFadden had the yards last year but didn’t have the touchdowns and that’s no fault of his.

Once Romo went down the running back did not stand a chance. Since the Cowboys did not address the back up quarterback they weren’t a threat once in the red zone throwing the football. Even though I would have went elsewhere with this pick, Ezekiel Elliott will still have a very successful career for the Cowboys.

The player I would have chosen with the 4th overall pick: Jalen Ramsey CB/S Florida State. Ramsey is a raw talent but would’ve been a great addition to the defense. His high upside is something the team could’ve used in the secondary.
